Crusader Track and Field Star Participates in Millrose Games in New York

Concordia Track and Field athlete, Ryley K. (Jr.) took to the sky and was invited to participate in the 114th Millrose Games in New York at the end of January. The national invitational track meet was held at The Armory in NY and featured some of the nation’s best track athletes including some Olympians in the field for Men and Women as well as many of the nation’s top high school athletes in the Boys and Girls divisions.

Coming off his TAPPS 6A State Pole Vault Championship in May 2021 clearing 15’, Ryley has been working hard to increase his PR and has been competing nationally in invitational meets.

Klefsted finished 2nd out of 13 participants in the Boys High School Pole Vault competition by clearing 15' 11" (4.85m). The top finisher is also a local product, senior Colton Rhodes from Klein Cain. The other participants were from all over the country including NJ, PA, NY, MA, TX, and GA.

Way to go Ryley for your work raising the bar to new heights! We are excited to see you and all the other Crusader Track & Field Athletes fly high, run fast, leap long, and throw far this spring! Next up for the Crusaders is the Lutheran South Relays on Saturday, Feb. 26th.
