Godspell Receives Two Tommy Tunes Award Nominations

- Jackson Cook (Sr.) received a nomination for Best Actor for his role as Jesus. Jackson is one of eight lead actors in that category and the only one from a private school.

- Godspell also received a nomination for Costume Design. The costumes selected for the show were representative of the current culture, while honoring the show's intent.

The Tommy Tune Awards Program celebrates the educational value, artistry, and community of high school musical theatre in the Greater Houston area. After evaluating the 46 participating Houston-area high school productions during the 2019-2020 school year, a team of 36 Houston-based theatre professionals nominated students in 15 award categories.

The awards show was scheduled for April 28th, but canceled due to COVID-19. The winners will now be announced via video on the Tommy Tune Awards Facebook page and the TUTS YouTube channel on April 28 at 7:30pm.
