Track Seniors' Season Cut Short After Promising Start

The girls track team was the 6A TAPPS State Runner-up a year ago, while the boys claimed the 4th place team spot in 2019. Seniors Jack Johnson (state runner-up in the high jump and 4x200 and 7th place in the 4x100) and Karsyn Wendler (6th place in the 4x200) contributed points as members of those 2019 state teams.

Coach Vasquez described this year’s track and field seniors as compassionate, team-minded servant leaders: “What stood out about these seniors was the way that they took charge of their program. They took the younger kids under their wings and made sure they warmed up the correct way and wore their sweats. Every time they stepped on the track, you knew that you were going to get the best version of them. What sticks out the most is their willingness to be coached and then apply that coaching to get better.”

Congratulations to this year’s seniors on their high school careers and God’s blessings as they move on from Concordia!
