2022 Fall Sports Recaps

 

Boys Cross Country – At the 2022 TAPPS 6A State Meet, the Crusaders had a top-10 finish in 8th place for the 3rd consecutive season with Wells S. (So.) and Matt Kangas (Sr.) leading the way in 31st and 36th places overall.

 

Girls Cross Country – The Lady Crusaders finished the Fall 2022 season in 6th place at the TAPPS 6A State Championships. Concordia’s five scoring runners all placed in the top 50 with Cara S. (So.) crossing the line first for the Lady Crusaders in 16th with Megan G. (Jr.) close behind in 23rd earning her a top 30 placement at State for the 3rd consecutive season.

 

Football – In Head Coach Willie Amendola’s first season at the helm of the Crusader Football program, Concordia finished with a 5-6 Overall (1-4 District) record and finished 4th in TAPPS Division 1 – District 2. The Crusaders started the year on a 4-game win streak and two of their losses were only by one score. Individually, four Crusaders were honored as All-State: Andrew Blades (Sr.) – 2nd Team – Offensive Lineman, Gianluca Decillo (Sr.) – 2nd Team – Defensive Lineman, Ryan Escalante (Sr.) – Honorable Mention – Offensive Backs, and Lou L. (Jr.) – Honorable Mention – Defensive Secondary.

 

 

Volleyball – The Concordia Girls Volleyball team finished the Fall 2022 season with a 33-16 Overall (9-3 District) record. The team finished 3rd in TAPPS 6A-District 2 and lost in the Regional Round (Elite 8) of the TAPPS 6A VB State Championships. This was the first season since 2013 that the team did not advance to the Final Four. The Crusaders had three All-State athletes: Kylie Bray (Sr.) – Libero, Faith Wilkins (Sr.) – MB, and Arianna M. (Fr.) – OH. Additionally, Kylie Bray (Sr.) and Caitlin Stein (Sr.) were also honored as Academic All-State.
