Concordia Boys and Girls Track Teams Finish in 7th Place at TAPPS 6A State Track Meet; Klefstad State Champ in Pole Vault

Concordia’s Girls Track Team had four individuals advance to the TAPPS 6A State Track Meet including:

  • Lauren Stein ’25 and Sara Ostermiller ’25 who finished 1st and 2nd in District in Discus
  • Adele Neuhaus ’24 who finished 3rd in Long Jump and 4th in Triple Jump at Districts
  • Kaitlin Rich ’25 who finished 3rd in High Jump at Districts

In addition to the individuals, the Girls Team also qualified all three of their relays at the District Meet:

  • 4x100M Relay included Kilea Lerman ’24, Ostermiller, Neuhaus, and Bella Amezola ‘24
  • 4x200M Relay included Neuhaus, Paige Veselis ’25, Avery Csernik ’24, and Amezola
  • 4x400M Relay included Bentley Shoulders ’25, Colleen Galler ’25, Jessica McGavern ’23, and Csernik

 

Of the 17 events at the State Track Meet, the Lady Crusaders had entries in 7 of the events. At the end of the two-day meet, Concordia finished in 7th place with 39.5 points thanks in part to strong field event performances by Neuhaus, Ostermiller, Stein, and Rich.

 

2023 State Meet Results for the Lady Crusaders Track Team:

  • Discus: Ostermiller finished in 3rd with a throw of 108’ 3” besting her district toss by 3’
  • Discus: Stein claimed 4th with a throw of 107’ 7” besting her district toss by almost 2’
  • Triple Jump: Neuhaus finished 3rd with a leap of 36’ 10.75” besting her district result of 35’ 11.75”. Neuhaus extended her school record which she had first broken at the district meet that had been held for 15 years by Allie (Brandenburg) Fleming ’10 at 35’ 4” in 2008.
  • Long Jump: Neuhaus claimed 4th with a leap of 17’ 7” besting her district result by almost 1’
  • High Jump: Rich tied for 5th by clearing 4’ 8” equaling her district finish
  • 4x400M Relay: Shoulders/Galler/McGavern/Csernik finished in 6th place with a time of 4:25.01
  • 4x100M Relay: Lermann/Ostermiller/Neuhaus/Amezola finished in 7th place with a time of 51.62
  • 4x200M Relay: Neuhaus/Veselis/Amezola/Csernik also finished in 7th place with a time of 1:50.99

  • Ethan Cantu ’23 qualified in the Long Jump

In addition to the individuals, the Boys Team also qualified all three of their relays at the District Meet:

  • 4x100M Relay included Cantu, Julian Dawkins ’24, Ethan Hansen ’23, and Parikh
  • 4x200M Relay included Eaves, Parikh, Dawkins, and Cantu
  • 4x400M Relay included Cantu, Isaac Keiper ’23, Dawkins, and Eaves

 

Of the 17 events at the State Track Meet, the Crusaders had entries in 7 of the events. At the end of the two-day meet, Concordia finished in 7th place with 56 points. 

 

2023 State Meet Results for the Concordia Boys Track Team:

  • Pole Vault: Klefstad finished as State Champion after clearing 14’ besting the 2nd place finisher by 1’ 6”
  • 4x200M Relay: Eaves/Parikh/Dawkins/Cantu finished in 2nd place with a time of 1:30.16
  • Long Jump: Cantu finished in 4th with a leap of 21’ 0.5”
  • 4x100M Relay: Cantu/Dawkins/Hansen/Parikh finished in 4th place with a time of 43.31
  • High Jump: Fuller claimed 5th place by clearing 6’ 6” besting his district result by 6”
  • 4x400M Relay: Eaves/Keiper/Cantu/Dawkins finished in 5th place with a time of 3:28.77
  • 200M: Eaves finished in 7th with a time of 23.30 and Parikh finished in 8th with a time of 23.80
